Introduction
The Rezūm system was introduced to the UK in 2017 as a new minimally invasive treatment for BPH. Professor Richard Hindley was the first surgeon in the UK to offer this both on the NHS and privately and collected data for this treatment in preparation for NICE approval, which was granted in August 2018. Rezum offers patients an alternative to taking BPH medications daily with a short day case procedure that can see you returning back to normal activity quickly.
Following NICE approval, Rezum treatment can now be offered in the NHS as well as privately by those surgeons who wish to offer it.
This website aims to provide all the information for both patients and healthcare professionals on the procedure. Should you wish to book a consultation, please use the details on the Contact Us page. Our News and Blog page features links to the media coverage on Rezum treatment.

The Rezūm System
Rezum uses the natural thermal energy stored in water vapor, or steam, to treat the enlarged prostate tissue that causes BPH symptoms such as frequency, urgency, irregular flow, weak stream, straining and getting up at night to urinate. The water vapor is delivered into the targeted prostate tissue and when the vapor contacts the tissue it condenses, releasing the stored thermal energy, causing the obstructive prostate tissue cells to die.
